We stock a comprehensive range of kitchen knives from well known brands Zwilling Henckel and Robert Welch.  We also supply specialist kitchen knives from Elia, Fissler and Oxo Good Grips.

Henckel have been producing kitchen knives in Germany since 1731.  In 1939 they introduced their ice hardening process Friodur® ensuring the blades kept a superior cutting edge and lasting sharpness.  Henckel kitchen knives are now sold in over 100 countries worldwide.

Robert Welch have been producing kitchen accessories for over 50 years.  Their kitchen knives are all fully forged and hand finished.
The Henckel range of kitchen knives stocked at ekitchenknives.co.uk include Henckel 4 Star, Henckel Twin® Profection, Henckel Professional S and Henckel Twin Cuisine.  Henckel kitchen knives are produced from special formula, high quality steel which contains the optimum balance of chromium and carbon.

Henckel kitchen knives are branded FRIODUR® which means they have been ice-hardened to enhance their quality. They have exceptional cutting properties, are especially corrosion resistant and flexible.
Robert Welch Signature kitchen knives are fully forged & robotically engineered.  Their blades are hand honed and sharpened by master craftsmen to give many years of consistent use.  The Robert Welch Signature range of kitchen knives were the winner of the Reddot Design award in 2009.

When purchasing a kitchen knife it is worth taking a little time to research what you are about to buy, as good kitchen knives are an investment and with correct care will last a lifetime.
Three good quality kitchen knives should cover the majority of aspects in food preparation; these being a chef’s knife, a slicing knife and a paring knife.  Both professional and novice chefs would have a larger collection of kitchen knives than the three mentioned above, however these are a good starting point for your collection.
Depending on what type of food you prepare will depend on what kitchen knives you choose to invest in next.  ekitchenknives.co.uk not only supply chefs knives, paring knives and slicing knives they also supply a number of specialist kitchen knives including boning knives and filleting knives.
All of the kitchen knives available at ekitchenknives.co.uk have stainless steel blades which contain 13% chromium and no nickel which makes sure they keep a longer lasting, sharp edge.
Kitchen knives can also made from ceramic or plastic.  Plastic kitchen knives are usually used to cut vegetables to stop them from discolouring.  The advantages of ceramic kitchen knives are they retain their sharp edge for a very long time, they do not corrode and they are very light.  However, there are some disadvantages to ceramic kitchen knives; they are extremely brittle and will chip if hit against anything hard or sharpened in the wrong way, they are also likely to snap if used to lever.  A special sharpening device must be used for sharpening ceramic kitchen knives.

When using your kitchen knives always try to use a wooden chopping board as they are less likely to damage your kitchen knife.  ekitchenknives.co.uk recommend Top Gourmet chopping boards  which are made from a natural wood fibre base, are dishwasher safe and require no maintenance.

Wow. This knife is very sharp and the geometry is insane. It is a joy to use this knife. It is incredibly nimble and precise.
